How do you set your machine and hunt,, everyone?

I thought it might be cool for everyone to give a brief description of how they setup there explorer and how they work it in the field. Where they like to hunt?how they go about their researching,and how they ask for permission.

I see that you got no replies to your post, but maybe you got some PM's about some of your questions. I guess my first question is how long have you been detecting and what kind of detector do you have?

I have an old XS - I hunt it in iron mask -8, conductive, manual 19, fast and deep on, variable 9, gain 10. I use the stock coil and a Sun-Ray X-1 probe. I hunt parks and ball fields and an occasional yard. The occasional yard I get permission by asking after finding out that their house is old - it's usually someone I know from work or church - I'm not comfortable to just go up and knock on doors. I have another XS as a backup.
