just got the tejon, how do you super tune it? why are the 12x10'' coils different sizes:confused:one tejon user has a 11 3/4 x 10.5 " made by tesoro, mine is 12.5 x 10.7" maybe its a bulgarian coil:clapping:the top has a "d" pattern on the right side and looks raised 1/8" higher.:rolleyes:appreciate your answers.

Tejon design doesn't "super tune". Run the sensitivity as high as it is stable where you are hunting and check the ground balance every now and then. If you don't have very ugly ground (highly mineralized) then you should see some deep recoveries with the Tejon (as long as there are those deep targets where you hunt).

No positive effect on supertuning the tejon.Supertuning only applies to certain Tesoro models. The tejon is factory supertuned. You can do a history search on this subject if you like. You should adjust the threshold to a comfortable hum.Because you will be checking targets with your trigger finger. You do not need to strong of a threshold level.Tesoro may have made a revision on the coil size. That is all i can think of.I hope you like the tejon.I consider the tejon, the big boss.It can do so much. Two disc circuits, vco mode, change output tone.Super deep.A really great detector.Any ?'s i will try to help.holler back. :-*

I understand that the Tejon is primarily a relic hunter, but how well would it perform as a coin and jewelry hunter in city parks, and around old homes littered with iron nails? How does it do in separating the junk from good targets and against target masking? Anyone have any experience with this detector in the conditions stated that could offer some insight?

The Tejon is a great coin hunter. One of the best in areas littered with iron. The dual disc is handy giving you an idea what the target is. For coils I would want the 5.75" concentric or dd, the 8" concentric and the 10"dd. A great detector. Read about power balancing. It does hit good on larger iron which I like. There are some nice iron relics.

I miss the Tejon I had but this time around I think I'm going to get a Golden Umax and Outlaw.

Tejon is a great all purpose detector.very good for coin hunting, jewelry for sure.Deep relics,it don't get any better.Very unique dual disc system. It is a serious detector.180 ed disc.Great in the trash and iron. :O

Thank you for the replies and your insight on the Tejon, Rick and Spirit. Much appreciated.
