How does the ACE 250 compare to this one????

I know nothing about detectors to be nice!!!
I purchased the one in the link but I want a nicer one and I am on a very limited budget. So if you could please tell me the pros and cons of the two...

I have never heard of it before. I would suggest you stick with a well known brand such as Garrett, with a proven track record and excellent customer service.

I've never heard a detector described as a " nicer one" Nicer than what? Are you going detecting or decorating your house with it I'm not a big fan of Bounty Hunter. Your money would have been better spent on an Ace 250 to begin your detecting carreer with.

I'd save my money until I've have enough to buy a Garrett 250 My opinion...you would be turn off to the hobby by purchasing a toy!! Research track records and field reports for both detectors. Check with Kellyco (www.kellycodetectors.com) for current reviews from other users. Good luck

That detector probably works. It is not anything like the Ace, though. SO pat yourself on the back for seeing the difference and asking here.

Next, I suggest that since you havent gotten in too deep, sell the Bounty Hunter to stop any further bleeding. Put it in the local penny shopper and get as much as you can for it.
Then take the proceeds and pony up whatever else is needed for an Ace 250. Consider it all a learning experience and then run, dont walk, to this forum on a regular basis. Let the good people here guide you on your way.

You won't be sorry you took this advice.

I can return the Bounty Hunter back to Cabelas and not loose any money. I have the extra $50 to get the 250 which I will do. Sounds like almost EVERYONE agrees and that is hard to find on these forums. Majority rules on this one... Garrett 250 will be on order...

I'd go with the Ace 250 too.

In all fairness Bounty Hunters do have their fans too. But you probably won't find many on this forum.

If you go to the Bounty Hunter forum I'm sure there are people there who have or do use the model you bought and can give you their opinion.

I do read a lot of reports about quality control issues with Bounty Hunters, which isn't surprising considering the corners I'm sure they have to cut to come in at a certain price point for places like Wal-Mart and Cabelas.

Remember that the gurus of this forum always say it's more the detectorist than the detector.

In my limited experience I can tell you that there will be a learning curve no matter what unit you buy.
