How does the Compadre stack up for nuggets?

I was reading another classifieds and there was a Vaquero for sale. Then the seller mentioned he was going nugget hunting, and was going to buy a Gold bug..I have probably the cleanest Compadre going that I half considered selling.Has a 7 inch coil ... Has anyone done any nugget hunting with a Compadre? The spot I'm looking at is kind of unique in that it has no black sand..I've panned, dredged, but never even thought about going for nuggets with a detector..I hope that they will sound off like little pieces of jewelry...Thinking if the Compadre can find little stuff, then I'm in business.....If not, back in the box until next year

Most areas that gold nuggets are found are highly mineralized & need a VLF machine that the GB can be adjusted or a PI machine. (for best results)

Compadre has a set GB set for milder conditions of Tot lots, playgrounds or parks.

Not saying you can't get lucky.

Forgot about that..Thought the ground was just gravel washed in...The property owner found a few items with eyeball searching. Has a detector.....nothing. I tried my Tesoro..And ,,,,,FOUND NOTHING..I thought that ,possibly, it could not see the little nuggets..AND, maybe the Compadre would make up for it..Something to think about for next year..Right now, with Winter coming in, I want to hit some of the spots that are available before I go into hibernation.................Thank you for that bit of reminder.

I tried nugget hunting with the compadre. I didnt find any thing. However I have also hunted the same area with a Xterra 705, gold master 2 and GMT and found nothing. There should be gold there but I am not finding it.

machineman,

Not all gold is MDable..............many gold areas have only small flour or flake gold, only recovered by panning, dredging or drywashing by the most part.

That is why people take samples to see if an area has color or not. If pickers are found in the samples then they bringout the MDer.
