How does the Xterra 50 compare to the Explorer in depth?

I was just wondering if anyone has compared target signals using the XTerra-50 and the Explorer XS or II.
I currently use an Explorer II and have an XTerra on order.
Can the XTerra compete with the Explorer?

Eric Fosters Goldscan-5 will hit a #12 birdshot in a can at 6 feet.
