How is Brian?

...Brian had a rough night. He awoke in a panic attack thinking he couldn't breathe. It will take a few days before he realizes that the trache is doing all the work. He did play his handheld game awhile and managed to write us a few notes last night. Today he woke for a little while and played his game for a few minutes. They removed the drain tube from his chin a few minutes ago and later today we are going to have him sit in a chair for awhile. He hasn't eaten or drunk anything yet. We hope to get him to take clear liquids today.
