How low can you go?

This am I hit Pulltabby Park with the F70 and went to the nastiest noisiest section of it. Its built on foundry slag, the whole ground sounds like one big copper plate with rebar on top of it...I have cruised through here in the past and KNEW there would be coins IF a fellow could locate them..I dropped sens to 36, 1 disc, -3 thresh, De mode, DP tones, and 17 Notch. It was still a noisy mess BUT, by gently hovering the coil and slowly working all the pings, which was hard since there would be a dozen in a short sweep. Also, the TID was way off, so a fellow had to go by ear alone and keep an eye on the ground only using a tiny center part of the 11"dd. then stoop and stab!

I got a Dollar coin and a Kennedy half, with 8.34 total and 78 coins, in 2hr 15 min. Even with this low a sens, a guy can really nail the coins to a depth of 3-4" in a mess like this.
I'm gonna try a few different settings along with the low sens to see if a certain one fits the bill in a situation like this. I wonder just how low a guy can run the sens and still hit? I really wanna find some GOLD this weekend, thats the goal anyway, hope you all get out and do well!

That's some pretty darn good digging in what sounds like a really nasty environment. I once dropped the regular F 75 down to 30 sen and was still digging 3-4" deep coins. How low can you go? I don't know! HH jim tn

Mud, way to go, I am also curious about the sens. Sounds like you need a smaller coil for those hard areas.

That's impressive detecting mud! Some of my most satisfying hunts are the ones where I'm in a heavily hunted park and pull out an old buffalo or Indian head.....

Hey Mud sounds familiar; I had a somewhat similar experience some years back.

I had been hunting the grounds were an old school house once stood and right in front of were the swing set once stood was, buried about 2 inches down, a flat section of very, very rusted chicken wire covering an area roughly 6x6 sq. ft..

After going over the rest of the school grounds more than a few times and having some success I often wondered what goodies might still be buried under that section were the wire was buried.

I don
