How many AT PRO detectors have been manufactured?

I am curious how many Garrett AT PRO metal detectors have been made. I have no idea what sort of numbers metal detectors are built in general. All i do know is that I have seen mention of serial numbers that start with 504, 505, and 511. I wonder if the three digit number changes represent modifications or are just consecutive numbers. Are metal detectors made in batches of 100's or 1000's? I really do not have any idea of how many people in the USA or world wide are involved in metal detecting. Does anyone know or have an estimate of the number of AT PROs that have been built, or the number of people who MD?
Thanks,
John Morton

I doubt very much that anyone from Garrett would release that information. But I would guesstimate a very high number because it is being promoted internationally.

Good Topic John, I bought two A T Pros from a dealer here in the U K both machines were purchased within a couple of months of each other

Both serial numbers start with 505.

First one 50502386

2nd one 50502526

I have no idea of how many A T Pro's have been made but I am sure someone will chime in and give you the answer LOL.

It seems that the serial numbers are in my case consecutive.

Les,
Thanks for the information.
I wonder if the international models are in an assigned block or if they build them in clumps in the middle of not-international ones. Maybe on a different assembly line or on a given day(s) of the week.
In any event, there must be several thousand AT PRO detectors out in the world by now. I have a feeling that between building new machines and fixing the teething issues that the Garrett folks are burning the midnight oil.
