How Many Minelab X-Terra People Do We Have Here?

Okay...Here's The Scoop Ladies & Gentlemen,

Last fall I purchased an X-Terra 70 and have come to really enjoy it but wanted to draw out more of its capabilities. So I purchased a 3khz 9" concentric coil to do just that. A 7.5khz 9" concentric coil came with my detector but I've never used it. An 18.75 DD 5" x 10" coil was part of my detector package when new, as well and that's the coil I've use from day one. So here's the deal folks; I'd like to sell the 'normal' 7.5khz 9" concentric & the 18.75 DD 5" x 10" coil as well. The 'normal coil' sells for a minimum of $149+ dollars nation wide and the DD coil retails for the same amount. The price I'm asking for the 'normal coil' is $100 plus shipping and $85 plus shipping for the DD coil. Does that seem reasonable to you? Is anyone interested? If so, send me a PM and we'll go from there. There's one more option, if you please. If anyone has a 'New' Teknetics 11" DD coil for the Omega 8000, I'd consider an even up trade.

Me! I've got the Minelab X-terra 70, but right now I'm using the coil that came with it.

Me too, quite a few, I think.

Actually I probably would have used the stock coil, that came with the X-70, myself but, when I bought the detector, I received an extra coil with it; the 18.75khz DD 5" x 10", which I used 100% of the time until recently when I purchased the 3khz 9" concentric coil. From what the pro's, at Minelab, tell me, the 3khz coil was specifically designed to find coin size targets (or larger). I did well with the DD coil but I'm anxious to see what the new coil will do. If I sell the stock coil and the DD coil, I'll purchase a 10" DD 18.75 coil for hunting gold rings, etc. and when I go to visit my friends in Virginia. The soil in their neck of the woods is very mineralized and the larger DD coil will come in handy.

I have a 70 but have the stock and a 6inch dd. You are going to have a hard time selling the 9inch 7.5 because everyone has one. Unless they break theres. I here the dd coil you have is a good one though.

Can't help but may God bless you to meet your needs for :detecting:  Ma Betty

the 3khz coil never leaves my detector, I have had it on since last yr when I got it, best coil I ever used

SS, I have used that 5x10 DD a bunch and it is a good coil with great seperation and you are asking a very reasonable price for it.
I have to wonder how you will like the big DD in 18.75. Let us know if you get that one and how you like it. I recently purchaced the big DD in 7.5khz and it is a different animal. With the power turned up towards the higher end of what I have been able to run here (20 to 25), I get a bunch of target bleed. That is in a trash heavy site I have been hunting. I do have the intention of using it more, and hopefully in some less trashy places. Covers ground in a hurry and seems to go deep. For the time being I have put the 6" HF DD back on for the seperation.

Lisa that stock coil is a good coil and will ID iron better than the DD coils. I simply do not perfer it but I do dig a good lot of garbage. I like the way the DD coils locate and seperate targets, they also cover a good bit of ground per swing. Learn how to run it and you will do well. The other reason I like the DDs is for the conductive soil we have here.

Jeff

I'm in agreement with you all and look forward to hunting with the 'New' 3khz 9" concentric coil. When I travel to Virginia to see my friends, I'll likely use the 18.75khz DD 5" x 10" coil most of the time.
The only other option is to put the entire rig up for sale; the X-70 with all three coils but it's highly unlikely anyone would give me what I'd need to get out of it. I've got well over $900 into it with the extras.
I really like the X-70 and have done well with it. If I could afford an E-Trac or Explorer SE Pro, I'd let the X-70 go but without selling the X-70 first, I'm not able to buy the more expensive detectors. At 65 years young, maybe I don't need anything better than what I've got? There has to come a time in our lives when we say ~ 'I'm happy where I'm at...'

Have you ran the Explorer. Word is it not balanced well for its weight, while teh Safari and the Etrak are.

Jeff

Actually I was using the Explorer SE Pro as an example of the machines I 'could' move up to if 'my ship' were to come in. ha! The E-Trac & Safari truly are incredible machines and one or the other would likely be my choice. We'll see what God provides in the months and years to come.

Oh My Gosh! The 3khz coil goes deep on coins! One dime was well over 8" where I have hunted numerous times with other coils on the X-70 that didn't see it at all. I found a piece of wire, in the sand, that was nearly 12" deep with the sensitivity set @ 20 w/a little bit of chatter (falsing). I think this coil's a keeper.
