How many of u came from a Etrac?

hey guys I just wanted to ask how many of you came from a minelab etrac. I had a rotator cuff injury and finding the etrac is kinda heavy. that the only issue other then that I love it. but i been tossing the idea of getting a XP due to weight. If u came from a etrac whats ur thoughts on how u like the xp and why

I came from an Etrac and then a CTX. I'm still learning the Deus and haven't detected much this summer due to engaging in a lot of home improvement projects.

I had a etrac and still have a ctx3030. I just got the deus and was out with it and swinger for a couple of hours.. I then picked up the 3030 to check some signals that I had marked and I couldn't believe how heavy it was! Up til then I thought the 3030 wasn't too heavy....... Biut it is! I don't like the balance on the deus but it is light. But my shoulder does hurt a little. Because it's so light I see that it is easy to swing it too far to the right (I'm right handed) and that's puts strain on the shoulder joint so if u get one be careful of that.. It is taking some getting used as far as setting it up and understanding it but I do like it and it will make a great addition to my detecting tools as I see that it has some limitations that thee 3030 does well so having both is like having the best of both worlds..

How is it on coins I mainly hunt parks but like the idea on popping the control box in my pocket or a bag if it starts raining out

Coins hit very well. The Deus "hooks" onto them and I know when I have one. I can also tell by then numbers on shallow targets what type of coin it is. This isn't true of the CTX. With the CTX you don't know, by the Target ID number, if it's a penny or a dime. I felt like the CTX hit really hard on copper but not on silver so in that aspect I would pretty much know it was a dime. When my Deus hits silver it really sounds off.

If MineLab would retain the frame package the E-trac is currently contained in, add an inline probe, faster processor, fast charging long lasting lithium battery, a more easily readable screen and sound bin programming, I'd buy another one. I truly believe the E-trac is the best machine in MineLabs hobby lineup. After owning and swinging the heavy CTX, I felt that MineLab made a bunch of mistakes on that one. There's a long list of things that are faulty and go wrong with it for the money it costs.

I think the Deus works fine for coins but do not expect to be as accurate in the id department as the the E-trac or other fbs machines for that matter on deeper targets . As far as weight goes the Deus is an absolute dream to swing and it is much faster at recovery than the E-Trac making it capable of hitting good targets in heavy trash better .
The Deus is also much hotter on small to tiny gold targets and other low conductors. I own and use both the Deus and the CTX 3030 and feel they complement each other perfectly making a very deadly duo ....

I have an etrac, a ctx 3030 and just purchased a deus. It is light and a dream to swing. That being said I think the minelabs get better depth and id better, but I really like my deus and it will compliment my CTX. I will take both with me every time I go out, and if I encounter a lot of nulling with my ctx, the deus will be coming out. I think I have the perfect arsenal.

By what I've witnessed the Deus is deeper, faster and definitely lighter than the Etrac. Best machine yet.
Still learning................

I too came from an Etrac, in fact I still own one. Just couldn't bring myself to sell it when I got the Deus as it was so different that I thought I would be selling it quickly and going back to the Etrac. Like others I ran around with two detectors for awhile, and suddenly just quit hauling the Etrac at all. Its been in the closet for over a year. Do I miss it? Nah......The Deus is hot for coins, super light, and configurable in the right ways to allow you to take on pretty much any detecting site you have to go after. I found more silver in the first month I owned the Deus than in the previous 6 months with the Etrac....I'm a believer, but the startup curve is steep, but relatively short when coming from the etrac, but once ya get the basics in your head, its super sweet to run. You can pretty much run this machine by sound, so putting the control head in your pocket is fine.

Good luck

I have the CTX and Deus. I think they do compliment each other very well also. It would be very hard to pick just one to keep. I still think of myself as in the learning mode because every time I use either detector something usually surprises the heck out of me.

I came from E-Trac. loved the machine but traded it for a Deus. Love the lightness & the extreme fast reset. It is hot on gold in the 18khz. I like it as I hunt for jewelry. It does have great depth as well. I recommend it.
