How much $ for a used explorer 2

My daughter just inherited a explorer 2 .I would like to buy it .what's its value ? no rechargeable batteries, just the detector.

Ill take a shot at that .. A Explorer 2 in average used condition with just the alkaline battery holder with the the stock 10.5 coil is worth $450 from a honest stranger.. deduct a little for a scratched up unit, add a little for a super clean unit. If it had a rechargeable battery & charger it would be worth $50 more..If it comes with a slimline SE coil deduct $25.. If has been updated with a Pro coil instead of the stock 10.5 add $100... If it comes with a sunray probe add $125... wildherre

There are a lot of unknowns but I can try to help you decide what is fair. An Explorer 2 was likely purchased new for around $1300.00. Whether or not it has original accessories or after market accessories should be considered. good pinpointers and extra coils are expensive accessories. FYI My EX2 came with a smaller coil as a part of the stock package it was 8". The EX2 model has evolved into the SE and the SE has evolved into the SE PRO so it is 2 generations old which is good or bad depending if who you talk to has found anything with the newer ones. there are better people to ask than me about it but I would feel robbed If I did not get $500-$600 bucks for one depending on accessories that were there. Its a lot of money but its a lot of metal detector. With people whining about the newer ones there may be a bigger black market for the EX2 than I realize i dunno. I like the SE PRO better myself the pinpoint now has tones just like in detect mode. Well maybe I helped, good luck if you get it.
