How much of an upgrade is this?

I've had my ACE for two seasons now and I've found many wonderful relics and old/silver/copper coins. I'll post up my year end totals when the ground freezes. I feel that going to the largest factory coil gave me more depth this year with my ACE, but.......... How much of a jump would it be for me to go to the 1500 GTI? Another couple of inches in real world depth? More? What other advantages does the imaging bring? I really like my ACE a lot and will not sell it so I don't want this to be an ACE bash please. I just have no other frame of reference as I've never touched another detector. Please give me any/all opinions on the move up the line. I"m primarily a coin/relic hunter. I'm getting a REALLY good feel for what the ACE tells me through sound, does the GTI make the same signal tones? Thank you.

I started off with an ACE 250, then "upgraded" to a 1500 - I only hunt for coins - so imaging feature is crucial - While the 1500 is a great machine, I have found you cant always trust this feature - many times now I have scanned an object as size c, only to test the 1500 by digging and finding coins that should be b size - obviously if there are other items nearby it will give a larger size indication - but I have scanned targets at c size, removed a coin, then switched to all metal mode to see if there was something else there and there was nothing - my point being unless you dig size a through c all the time then whats the point of imaging that isnt reliable? Dont want to knock the 1500, in the first two weeks I dug up over

DD, concentrics each have their strengths. The GTI 1500 has the imaging feature, which can really increase your coin finds when you learn it well.

You won't get a whole lot more depth with the 1500 - just a lot more target information that will save you digging undesirable targets. Course I don't know how knowing the size of your target will work out in relic hunting because you are basically digging junk left over from a war The 1500 was designed for coinshooting and is one of the best on the market. There is an after market coil for the 250 from Kellyco - a 10x14 DD that users claim gets great depth.

One thing with the 1500. Centering the target correctly is absolutely critical to get correct readings on anything and it can be tricky. You can't get sloppy. I have dug a kazillion quarters that first ID'ed as cents. But after pressing pinpoint ( and still getting a cent ID ) and moving the coil around ever so slightly that ID switches to "quarter." One thing about the GTI's ( and I hammered away at this constantly when I ran the Garrett Classroom years ago ) you can't detect with them like you would with any other brand as they are a breed all their own. If you do so then you are going to have problems.
