how to restore v nickle

Or tumble it, then polish it. Sadly, nickels dont fare well in the soil
 
Seem to remember reading that you could soak it in Worchestershire sauce. I haven't found one yet to try it on, though.
 
I wouldn't do anything. That corrosion might be the only detail left and you could end up with a blank shiny nickel disk. I like the way coins look fresh out of the ground. The only downside is that it makes it hard to share your finds with your friends. some of my old nickels and coppers are in awful, awful shape.
