I got my explorer 11 2 weeks ago and I found only 4 dimes 5 pennies and 1 ring.Is there any other pro settings someone can help me to hunt for coins, jewelry and old coins?I am just frustrated to understand the settings.I have been digging up to 5" and still beeps in the hole but nothing comes out.Should i just keep hunting with the factory preset. Are there any books/internet school to read and understand settings?Anybody can help me.Thank you.

You can try these sites here. Lots of good info. I've had mine only a couple weeks and am digging all kinds of good stuff with it. What machine or machines have you had before?

tHANK YOU i WENT IN AND READ ALOT OF USEFULL STUFF.

First of all,the item you are detecting is probably deeper than 5".
second when you take a hand full of dirt out run it over your detector, lots of times you cannot see the item, even in the smallest clump of dirt.make sure you don't have any metal on that hand or wrist.
third ,get a probe, you will never be without it.
four,I think you should go with the factory setting until you learn your machine all the way.if you take some one else's readings you are getting settings away from where you are hunting so that may not help you.
five,do testing in your yard and record you readings and store them away so you can refer back to them.

Hope it helps you

Hi Beaver,

I see you don't have you're personal settings set so you can receive private e-mail.

Send me an e-mail and I'll send you some settings and some things that work for me.

Would be best if you read the manual first and run your machine in factory presets for 40-50 hours! Tinker a bit here and there as you go. Patience and persistance will pay off in the long run!!!
