How would EX II compare against

the MXT in a Prospecting use. I will only nuggetshoot 3-4 times a year in Oregon. I dont want to buy a gold only detector for now.
I am considering a high end detector for coin and relic hunting also beach hunting(this is what I DO MOST). Wouldn't the EX II be just as good at gold as the MXT or DFX? Why would the MXT/DFX be better?(ground tracking, software programing, frequency???)I know there is no perfect "all purpose" detector but if the EX II out shines most detectors in the coin, jewelery, relic modes. How does it stackup in the prospecting catergory compared to other "all purpose" detectors
Does it have a prospecting program like the DFX & MXT? Thanks in advance
Shawn

At the present time-no detector does better than an EX2 for that for which it was designed-coins & relics.
Buy a nugget detectors for goldbuy an EX2 for that which it was designed to do. KISS

MXT is a multi faceted unit that has been made to be a nugget shooter with input from Jimmy Sierra..Explorer is a coin and relic machine and excells in those categories and Minelab does make nugget machines. Personally if I was hunting for gold nuggets would buy a gold nugget machine as it is hard work at best..

One of the foremost gold experts is Gerry at Gerrysdetectors.com. He's in many of the brochures for detectors. I'd contact him for some advice, for sure.

i owned both machines and both have their advantages mxt is quicker but ex2 goes deeper. ex2 is more for coin shooting i would pick mxt for gold if those two were my choices jim
