HOW'S THIS FOR C$ FIRST SILVER?

WOW! What a day! Nearly 60 degrees, sunny and perfect detecting conditions! Went to an old school that has a huge abandoned lot next to it used for a soccer field and LOADED with junk! Scrap iron, tin, nails and hot rocks. OODLES of good 30's signals that are just junk, but you just can't pass up! My first silver with the C$ was the Canadian 1883H 5 cent piece! I thought I had an american 3 cent piece but I will settle for the nearly key date coin in the series! It was 5 inches deep loaded in the junk! The Seated Liberty Half was dug about an hour later smack in the middle of the field. How deep? 10 inches conservatively! I saw it churn up while scooping my FOURTH handfull of dirt from the hole! Read a strong 40's signal, fairly loud and repeatable. My heart read a fairly loud late 30's (age) signal in my old chest when I wiped the dirt. Thought I had a "Walker" at first because I saw the eagle, but said "wait a minute, that's one skinny eagle" and then it dawned on me before I flipped it. Also found a gold charm about the size of a dime and shaped like an apple at 6 inches still on a dainty chain. Yea, the C$ digs some iron junk, but this damn machine GOES DEEP! I LOVE IT ALREADY!

My first silver with the C$ was a walking liberty half.....Wanna trade? <img src="/metal/html/razz.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":razz">

Awesome first targets, we call the 5 cent silvers fishscales, same size as half dimes and 3 pence silver. I've managed over 120 of the little guys so far, they were made from 1870-1921 (1921) is the rarest, only a few escaped melting, I personally know of 5 that have been found with the 1921 date , they sell for a minimum of $2000. Still looking for mine. I love the half too, great first silver.
