Hows your depth in the dry conditions?

I got permission to hunt an old Church. Do you guys experience depth loss in dry soil? Only been out maybe 4 times all year and looking forward to this.

not sure where you are located, but we here in the northwast
always loose some depth during the summer months when
the ground gets hard..good luick on your hunt. Gold Nuggets

Try going to the trashy parts in dry weather as the iron nails in wet weather make it harder to pick out coins in damp/wet soil. The drier the soil, usually the less depth you get but you seem to get better separation. The wetter the soil, the more depth you get but it becomes harder to pick out stuff amongst the trash.

Electricity and water just go together like peas in a pod.
Definitely more depth with moist soil. but as said,
all the hallows come together as one big signal sometimes.
Sure is easier to dig though!!!

Different levels of moisture in the soil create different conditions, even at the same site. I have found increased depth when the soil is wet. The separation in dry soil is beneficial also. There is a sacrifice in depth, yet the targets seem to have a more distinct sound. A lot of the coins I dig when it is dry have a piece of iron close to or on the target. I love to dig silver with a piece of iron on it. I hunt with a SE with the pro coil.
