I have been to this field 4 times (now a succor field) this year and almost every time I found very little in coins. Stopped to give it another try.
It was an area where a stage was set up and bands would play the night away as people sat on the grass, listened, drank beer and wine. Some time in the 1960's-1970's??? Maybe a little later into the 80's? The old guys that told me about the place didn't know that much about years and exact location. Never could find the spot. Maybe today I am getting closer???

I can tell you found a few stacks! Yes, those are pocket spills, so you could be right about the location..zero in where those hippies were sitting, and you may hit a nice brass pipe one of them made in shop class! Good work as usual Zeek!
