Hunt #4 F-70 screamin today

Hit 3 small local parks today, I have figured out that whoever is hittin them is only hittin the chip pits and nothing else. coin count was 8 quarters 11 dimes 3 nickels and 86 pennies 2 keys and a hair pin along with the ocassional pop tab that came up as nickel. hit 1 quarter 2 dimes and a nickel stacked on top each other that was nice. Zee I have been running my notch at 12-15 just high enough to take out iron and I am figuring out dont trust the confidence bar I was gettin a broken hit and low confidence and pulled coins, one thing I am trying to get used to is the F70 seems to have a slower recovery and reaction time than the F2 and it seems to hang up a second or two after u hit the pin point button before it shows coin numbers, any way heres a pic happy huntin to all. Gad zooks that is some nice detecting Stryker. Maybe you understand now that if there is something there you will find it with the F70. The F70 allows you to notch things out or it allows you discriminate things out. I never did like notching out stuff. Never quite knew the range of the notch? I only mentioned the notch because when you notch out iron, foil, pull tab you have a coin machine. That is kind of neat. I know other machines have these abilities but with the F70 you do not have to go through a bunch of windows and sub windows to do these things.
Confidence bar, never look at the thing. Most concerned with sound, numbers, repeatability, and the bigness of target. When I got my first Fisher detector Elton told me when I hit a target, just swing from another angle and if it is a good target it will be the same from the other direction. It works pretty good. My first Fisher was hard for me to get the hang of it. It behaved so different than the other detectors I had been using.
It is better to be a better hunter. Good work... Thanks for reading and Happy Trails....Z

I am in Wisconsin. The F70 works great here in Wisconsin. I hit 3 new schools and parks the past 2 days and it has worked on all 76+ schools/parks that I have been at to detect. I think someone said that there are 160 parks and schools in the county. So I have a few to go. I plan to hit all that I can detect at. Some are now rubber instead of wood chip or sand. Thanks for reading and Happy Trails.....Z

WTG, I found you comment on swinging one direction, then turning around and trying again and hitting it again very interesting. I normally wont dig if the target only sounds off in one direction. My bad???

Rick it is just another way of trying to guess if it is a good target or bad. If it sounds off in both directions, just hit it from a 90 degree angle and it might give you a bad target reading. I am digging in sand most of the time so I dig just about everything. But when I get a good penny or better signal both directions (but my gut tells me to check) I turn 90 degrees and get a bad signal reading it usually turns out to be a bad target. If I was digging in the hard dirt and had to get down on my knees I would really like to have some techniques so I am not down there for nothing too many times. There is so much to learn. Every little tip that is usable just makes it that much easier to pick up those good targets over those bad targets.
I really enjoy this detecting stuff and spend much time doing it just for the fun of it. Thanks for reading and Happy Trails....Z
