Hunt #52

Had a real nice hunt this morning. Just perfect weather for hunting. 2 rings and some junk jewelry. One ring is I think tin? And the other one is Tungsten. Nice looking ring. Little magnifying glass. Cheap bracelet and earring. Its supposed to start getting in the 90's tomorrow and for most of the week. Thanks for looking in and Happy Trails......Z

Thanks El and ez.
Hunt#53 was a river bank hunt. This was my first river bank hunt and I have to say the people who hunt river banks are really tough. It was hard walking and signals galore. Mud, sand, rocks, sticks, water to dig through. It was one of my hardest hunts so far and I ended up with a quarter, nickle and 4 pennies. I dug up pounds of iron that was everywhere. It was a much stranger environment than I am used to. The signals where unfamiliar, the digging was very difficult. I may hang up my river bank hunting days with one hunt. My partner will have to do some real talking to get me back on that river bank. :argue: But I don't think he will be trying to hard to get me to go back because he spent most of his time up on the land not by the river. He ended up with about 20 - 30 coins. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Trails....Z

I would love to pass my 70 over a ring like that. So far all my jewelry is fake earrings, hoops
and studs mostly falling in the high iron category. Nice find Zeek

Thanks IB. Your doing really good with that F70 and standard coil. Mud uses the 11" DD all the time. And he sure does a bang up job even in the tot lots. I use the 6.5" coil all the time. When I go to another size coil things become unfamiliar. If you are comfortable stay with what you are using. If you think you are missing something adjust that thought. You won't get it all. The parks/schools/beaches I hunt have been hunted for many years with many different people and using different kind of detectors and yet I am finding stuff (1"-4") that has been in the ground for a long time. I am not digging more than 4" because I don't like to stay down on one knee too long and usually I am not the only one in the park. I am a guest there. Read the posts get what you need and enjoy. Your life doesn't depend on it. It is a hobby and I might say a dog gone great one. Keep up the good work and if your around here contact me and we will hit a few parks. Happy Trails .....Z
PS: I have a nice sized box full of the junk jewelry....:clapping:

Nice job Zeek! :clapping: I was over in Germantown wednesday last...came across on the fast boat and drove home..didnt get any time to hunt or even have a cup of coffee with you, but I was thinking of you on the drive past those parks and whatnot...I took my F70 out to do some dirt hunting yesterday, it was a very satisfying experience to once again hear multiple and many tones as opposed to hunting the beach where it can be a long and boring time between them..looking forward to getting off the sand and starting the Fall dirt work! Those river banks have gotta be awful buggy and poisonivy-e let alone tough non flat hunting...flat easy parks for me coming right up.
Mud

Thanks Mud.
Mud it would be nice to have a coffee and gab a little with you.
Sometimes I will sit and talk to someone in the park instead of hunting. I get some good hints as to where to go next to try hunting. It just amazes me how much information I can get from someone by just sitting and talking that I can use for a different hunt. Sometimes it pans out other times not. The river bank hunt was one of those hints. I got this info from a homeless guy that lives in the woods on the river bank when we were talking in the park. Terrain not to friendly for us older guys that can only walk on flat surfaces.:wiggle:
Beach hunting still a drag. Thanks for stopping by and always welcome to stop in. Happy Trails....Z

Nice job, Zeek!!!! So am I correct to think that Zeek lives in Wisconsin and that Mud traveled across the "pond" to Germantown, WI???? What the heck!?!? I live about an hour west of Milwaukee, you gotta let me know when you are coming again, and Zeek, if you are in Wisconsin, let's hook up one of these weekends before the sn....sno.....ugh, that white stuff flies. :look:
