I hunted an active school that has loads of trash, clad, and the potential for silver. I used high trash, ferrous sounds, auto sensitivity, and the SEF 8x6 coil. I switched to conductivity sounds before I dug, just to see if there was a difference. I got a quarter, five dimes, and 3 nickels. Trash included a tiny brass gear, 2 pull tabs, and a twist off. I found the nickels one after the other and was very confident . I dug the pull tabs expecting trash. I've got the pinpointing down. I usually center side to side, turn 90 degrees and center again, as recommended, but I find that with the smaller coil, I can use an x pattern with good results (though no one recommends this as far as I know.) A couple of the dimes were 6 in. down in dry, semi hard soil. The signal was strong. The in the side wall of a deeper dime hole. After I retrieved the dime, I checked the hole and got another clear signal. No silver today, but some good experience for such a short hunt.
