We all have heard the saying, Grass always greener on the other side. Well, I guess we all do this with metal detecting. When we are riding along, we look for places to hunt. I do it all the time. I wife love me pointing out all the places I see  (right). How to the learning part of this. We look all over the place, But do we slow down an look.

My father build the house that they live in back in 1980, I was a teenager. Then I build my house next to him in 1995. That's 27 years on this road. I know the land like the back of my hand ( I was thinking this) The other day. I seen a house in the woods, two story 100 feet off the road. Not 1/4 mile down the road. Woods been there for over 50 years I know. I know that the house has been empty for over 50 years, Were this house sits, there was a road back in the 1800's I'm sitting here, way didn't I see this before. I guess we over look things when we think we had covered it all.

I know the guy who owes the land, I'm going to talk to him today about hunting it.

Point is, never think the grass is greener some where else :D:

That sure is the truth Jeff ! Many times I thought if I could just get in to detect at this spot or that one away from my city - I sure would harvvest the goods. Well, it always happens that I dig more at home than away.
If there was a road back from things it surely might have the goods. Good luck on it, steve in so az
