Had a great time yesterday, ks coyote got a bunch of us together and we gathered at a big old park about 35 miles from my home.
Usually a little further than I travel, but not too far and I am putting this one on the list for future hunts.
I was a lone wolf for a long time but hunting with others is fun, and when you have a bunch of really nice and helpful people to do it with even more fun.
All kinds here, from very experienced to fresh, shiny newbie, and everyone seemed to have a great time.
They have some sort of reenactments all over the place at this park, everyone was plagued by these shell casings that were everywhere,
They came in pretty good, right at the area where a big gold ring would, but after digging several I gave up and passed most of them by for the rest of the day.
This was an old park and according to the local guys and absolutely hammered to death for decades.
I hunted it for hours and there were very few high tone signals of any kind.
Still, this is why I never believe that any site anywhere is ever totally hunted out.
Here are just of the few of the goodies some of us found.
Never give up, never surrender!
I found the war nickel, my first.
ks coyote found a 1915 Buff in great shape and shallow.
Inksmith dug up the greatest thing, a very cool 1872 Ulysses S. Grant reelection campaign token.
Show me a site that is supposedly hunted out and I will show you a guy just itching to prove that wrong!
