Hurricane Wind direction

Any way to predict what the sand will do during specific storm, or do you just go check? Strom is to blow more or less north here. which is mostly an off shore wind in Western NY, Lake Erie area. Des in Buffalo

The best storms gets sand moving south. Depends on the angle of the beach. Some winds just beat down the high waves preventing them from causing erroison as does large sand bars or reefs setting in front of the beach at the time of the storm. Problem with these type movements is wind shifting directions. Here in the gulf we were getting movement from our last storm pulling a LOT of sand off the beach.... but then the wind caused the direction of the waves to shift... bam we got i right back on the beach in the form of a huge sand bar that then flattened out .... and its still there on some of the beaches.
