I am getting comfortable with my new Omega

:usan:Hello All,
I hope you all had a nice Labor Day. I went out this afternoon and got some more practice with the Omega. I found 4 more of the nickels that I have been working hard on. I just about have the numbers and tones down for the nickels. I hunt d4 on the tones. from my experience the nickels will read 56 and 57 on the same target and give a real hard steady tone. Pull tabs will too but, they will throw that 58 or 55 or 59 in there with the numbers. If it throws only a 56 or just a 57 listen and the tone will seem weak like it is straining to get out. That is my observation anyway. One of the nickels I dug today was a '39 plain. I also dug 3 wheaties today a 45,48D and a 56D. that is my best day with wheaties so far. I also dug $1.92 in clad. i also found this nice ring. It is not silver or gold to be sure and I am pretty confident it is not brass or copper. It really has some nice heft to it and is heavier than the aluminum rings I have found before. It rang up as an 84. Someone thought enough of it to solder it together. It is rather crude but it is not junk. There are no markings inside of it. It may be pewter but who knows. Good luck to you all and HH.
