I am gonna be a weatherman when I grow up. (Cool Old Ring)

How could anybody be this wrong? Cloudy, cold and rainy was the forecast. Sunny, warm and dry was the actual weather. My back is really limiting me these days. 75 minutes was it. I got very lucky as I have for the past 2 hunts. Got a 1936 wheat which is 100 wheats in 2008. I am no John in WV but that it a good wheat total for the type of hunting I prefer. I got a very cool "Bond Bread Lone Ranger Safety Club" badge. In awful shape but it has probably been buried for 50 plus years. The best item came when I was testing out True All Metal (TAM.) I got an iffy signal in discriminate in my favorite old coin spot in the park. I switched to TAM and got a much stronger signal which moved between cent and dime. It imaged as size B depth 6 inches. This is how my GTI 2500 normally images items deeper than 6 inches. I got down 7 inches (my Lesche is 6 3/4 inches to the hilt) and saw the glimmer of silver. I thought it was a dime for sure. I reached into my narrow hole and out came a 1934 class ring. Silver but unmarked. Engraved with archaic initials very worn inner band, though. I think the school is St. Marys School. SMS. It could be S____ Middle School but my town didn't have a middle school until 1959. So another hunt when I thought I would be housebound. My first ever hunt in December too! (I'm no John in Edmonton either.)

The dollar bill was soaking wet but dried up nicely in the sun.

wow what a ring cwilk and besides when are the weather people ever right  lol it should be sunny and nice all the time

Superior time afield, Chris!

Great finds.. :clapping: You keep on stretching that last coin in 2008, who knows how long you can keep it up...

Gotta love those old Lone Ranger knockoffs. Some are worth big bucks too! That ring is cool. I went to a Saint Mary's School in another province when I was still a pup. :)

this woman came in (over 80 years old) and said she heard I found an SMS ring and asked me t bring it in some day to show here. I had it on me and she said she had never seen one but had heard about them before. Seems class size at the school (St. Mary's of the Snow) were only about 10-12 kids back in the day. I'm sure in 1934 at class rings were not high on the priority list.
