I believe there's something wrong with my F2.

I was told, right here on this very forum, that I could take a walk with my F2 and enjoy peace and quiet. I would rarely hear any beeps and if I did I'd barely notice. No way! I tried a beach and the thing beeped every minute, sometimes more. I had to dig down 5, 6 sometimes even 7 inches to retrieve the metal that was destroying my peace. It worked until I took a few steps ahead and then I had to dig all over again. I couldn't find an area that wouldn't make the F2 beep. Then I had an idea. I remembered seeing a beach with many guys just like me, digging up those noisy pieces of metal. It had to be quieter than this beach. well, it was, but not by much. Still more beeps than I was promised, so I tried an inland park. No better. Sometimes I couldn't take a step without having to dig up a dime or quarter to calm things down. Very disappointing! I guess I'll have to take most of what I read here with a grain of salt.

Noise makers below.

Sorry to hear that your peace and quiet was so disturbed Bob! Perhaps you should take up walking with a different kind of stick, around a golf course. Hopefully your peace and quiet won't be so disturbed.
nice pile of lute.

Ya, and your peace of mind will probably get even less in the days ahead. NICE PILE OF GOODIES! HH jim tn

Now THAT was a good post!! WTG all the way around, Bob. Continued aural annoyance and Happy Holidays. :)

I think I would send that thing back for repairs !!! If it's doing that much beeping, and from what I have read, and like you, think it should have been a peace and quiet walk."Something must be really wrong with yours" I hear the Warranty is pretty good..

On the left is the one in the photo. I found the one on the right this afternoon just below the high tide line using the F2's big brother the F4.

Thanks Bob...looking good.

My main detector is the F4 and I really like it. I'm just about up to speed with it and now I'm drooling for the F75.

Sincere question: Do you think I could pull out some old silver (coins) with the F4? It finds me the wheats and a couple of Roosevelts but nothing deeper than about 5" or 6". I'm confused as to whether the TID will still accurately indicate silver or do I need to dig it all for depths over 6"?

that's my idea of peace and quiet!

Bob:

There must be a bunch of bad F2's out there..My friend got one and he's having the same problems with his as you have..It's finding coins everywhere.
Silver and Indians....................It just Beeps, beeps, and no peace and quiet at all.....HMMMMMMMMMMM wonder if their all like that ???

I start to wonder if that is legal to make a $199 detector that can really find metal like that, hehehe. :clapping:

Nice post,
