There is a guy who has posted a 3 part series of videos on youtube comparing the Safari to the Garrett AT pro. He uses an old 10 inch explorer coil on the Safari and has it in AutoSensitivity. The AT is set at one notch from the max. I am a Garrett fan and think the AT Pro is a fine machine. It has a lot of great features, but being deeper than the Safari is NOT one of them.

Agree. One of my hunt buds uses an ATP. Its a great machine but doesn't beat my stock Safari on depth or identification.

My at pro couldnt handle the soil in california at all. lol damn thing would chatter on any sensitivity above 3 bars so i sold it and now i got my hands on a tom tuned cz-3d and i get more depth and better id. tom certified it to 13.5 inches.
