I can't decide between the White MX Sport and the Garrett AT Max

Why is it so hard to decide what metal detector to buy? I am looking at the Whites MX Sport and the Garrett AT Max. I can't decide which one to get. I am currently running a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV. I want to be able to find more silver and gold rings and coins. The unit must be water proof as I might take it to the beach. Which one should i go with and why?
 
The Max is reported to be good at the beach. Have you considered waiting in the new Equinox. Hopefully will be shipping to dealers soon and user reports will no doubt follow immediately after.
 
May I suggest you check out each brand specific forum here on Finds Treasure Forum. There are some really talented people who use each brand. Some use several brands and they post on the forums.

I think the Makro Multi Kruzer would make a great candidate for the types of detecting that you want to do.
