When you get your Explorer II and have any questions, post them on the forum. You will find that this is a great group of people that will help you with a wealth of information. Good luck and happy hunting. TB
PS: Post pictures of your finds.

Good luck with your new toy.....again only as easy or hard as you want it to be..Run it for a while in Quickstart with the sens, jacked up into the 20's until you get the hang of it...

tried my new EX11 on Monday and Tuesday. I used information given to me from everyone on this forum. Very generous people here. That was my first experience with a Minelab. I froze at the beach on Monday but learned a lot. Tuesday was in the mid 20's and not so cold as Monday. I found some clad, foil, tin and a nice galvi nail at 8" deep but had a great time learning.
I have heard time and time again from everyone on this forum *use factory settings with sensitivity as high as stability allows and ***dig all repeatable signals***.
That is the approach I took and am very happy with those settings for a beginner. Oh ya, I chose ferrous sounds and accepted foil and pull tabs in hopes of not missing gold since I was at the beach and also digging every signal anyway. I got lots of high falsing, I turned down sensitivity a bit and that seemed to help. Pinpoint is killing me but I'm getting better. It seems quite different from my Garrett. I guess it's the DD coil that I need to learn. It is going to be a lot of fun learning and using this machine.
I noticed that clad quarter and dimes sound high pitched like silver and cross hairs seem to be about the same spot too. This is based on my home air testing and also from the quarters that I found on the beach. I guess it will take quite some time to figure out exactly what all the sounds are. I think I have foil and tin sound down pat already.... Thanks for the read.
