Ok, these aren't in-ground tests sure, they're not comprahensive results but then again, in treasure hunting you're not looking for in-situ targets, so that levels the results.
I was supprised to hear than my Explorer se picked up a .2gram nugget that I used as one of the tests. This is indoors with THE WOT coil. Needless to say it only picked it up about 4 millimetres from the coil, still...
WOW I thought, can't wait next time I head off to the beach and try those settings.

I assume your point was the Explorer is effective on finding smaller jewerly. The Explorer is just not an EFFECTIVE nugget machine. The signal you got wouldnt blow you away in the field and would be easily passed over especially when you throw in EMI and minernals. On the beach its a lot simpler.... if it registers dig it, especially if it registers deep. Most targets that hit in say the 7 inch range can be pretty accurately IDed, with the exception of smaller targets and chains. If it silver you wont miss it with the Explorer... but you have to pay attention with a larger coil when hunting for gold. In trashy areas the Explorer has a very effective LEARN to reject unwanted targets that not enough people use.

Correct. It is inpractical to use the se in the goldfields.
