I want a new hobby! Single father of three, so not much travel. Inexpensive and need to know the basics! No equipment no knowledge! Any suggestions?

Ace250 would be a great start, simple and easy to use!

Get a Fisher F2. Use it with no discrimination. Swing slow and low and dig every tone that isn't a low iron grunt. If the numbers on the screen bounce around a little dig it anyway. Deeper targets and coins on edge will do that. Get a good digging tool. No plastic handled garden shovels. They bend and break. Get a pinpointer. They sell the F2 in a package with two size coils and a pinpointer. It's a great starter package.
