I Finally Figured It Out

Well, It took me a while but I finally figured out how the notch system works on the Golden uMax. It is working well for me but it's still hard to know exactly what is being discriminated out. I am happy just to know the average junk is being notched out. Most all of my hunting is in extremely trashy areas. I have a 4 inch coil that I use a lot too. I almost sold this unit and bought a Cortes because at least on the Cortes you can physically "see " on the ID screen what is being notched out. I would still like to try a Cortes one day but for now I'm happy with the Golden. Thanks again to all you who helped me get the hang of this.

Sometimes I think ' I'd like something with a meter.' But honestly, when I'm out hunting, I pretty much zone out. I concentrate so hard on listening to my machine I dont know if I would ever see the meter. Best of luck with your Golden.

I agree I have a Cortes waiting on it to get back from Tesoro which is soon I hope ! have a possiable deal on a trade for a vaquero for it cause I am not a Meter watcher but wanted to try a cortes but not for me Hopefully it and My Shadow X2 will be home soon Never had a Golden but would to try one some day as well
