Thanks to a friend, i was able to get this TRX pinpointed I had no Idea weather it would work with the compadre , but was pleasantly surprised , If any of you have a TRX and a Vaquero , Tejan, or umax, is it also silent on those all I know is the Compadre & TRX get along really well , the Garrett was always driving it nuts . I have a good layer again on the hill of many nails lets hope something good comes to light

Thanks for the info. Let us know how you like that TRX. I want one because it only senses at the tip.

It looks like a very nice pin pointer. Gunnar you said something about 3 levels of power. How much deeper is it than the ProPointer?

Never had a single issue with my Tesoro's and my GPP getting along, don't know what you were using before but glad you did find something compatiable.

Tab , the garret gets about 1 3/8th inch on a dime without super tuning and about 2.75 super tuned on a dime the TRX without super tuning on level 3 gets 3" solid on a dime . Richbat thats interesting that you have no problems I wonder what the difference is , glad to hear it anyway.

Gunnar does the build of the TRX seem as solid as the ProPointer?

Gunnar, I have had no problems with the ProPointer with my Silver and Tejon. I still want to try a TRX though.

My Garrett ProPointer only had issues with my Compadre running low disc. It works well with the Vaquero, Outlaw, Tejon and Deleon (from my personal experience).

Thanks for the info. Twice the depth might come in handy in some cases. I de-tune the ProPointer often when searching down in the hole to better zero in on the target.

How easy and well does the TRX de-tune? I forgot, does it vibrate? Enough of this I need to get back to rubbing my Genie before I head out to do some detecting. :)

OhioMike, I would say the garrett seems , or feels stronger than the TRX, but the TRX is very close to the strength, but it is lighter for sure , but it does not seem cheep very well made, Dan that may be the problem i usually hunt in low disc i will have to try that I don't recall having trouble with the Vaquero , Tab it is very easy to detune the TRX just a quick push of the button, but to get it back to the starting point you will have to turn it off and then back on and you can set it up to vibrate, vibrate & beep or just beep i have mine set up to just beep it has 4 sensitivity levels by the way , but what also is nice is the ability to use rather 2 AA batteries or one 9 volt on level one gain you get a dime @ 1 " at level 2 you get it at 2" at level 3 you get the dime at 3" at level 4 maybe 3.5"

O,K Dan B you solved the problem i did have the disq to low i put it just past Iron and nice and quite, thank you . and i put another Video hear for tabman , and rainy day showing how to set it up and detune and so on

Gunttar, the Garrett and the Compadre both operate at 12 khz so they might like to talk to each other. But my old golden sabar 2 run at 12 khz it got along good with the Garrett but sometime it would talk with my dad's golden sabar 2.My sand shark will drive the Garrett crazy if I got with in about 8 feet of it.The Minelab pro find 25 seems to get along with all my detectors and it has a button to detune so I got ride of the Garrett.

sounds and looks like a nice one. good for you. when i get around to getting a pinpointer, that the one i will get. all say the garrett one is the best though. trx has some nice features on it. thanks for the info...

Hey Gunnar thanks a bunch for the great video! I am gonna have to add one of those to my want list soon!

Fortunately my Compadre works fine with the Pro-Pointer. I'm guessing minute frequency differences between individual units determine whether the two get along or not

The TRX has only been out a few months so the jury is still out on durability. It doesn't have the textured grip of the Pro Pointer which I think has a better hand feel. The TRX has a two year warranty if anything goes wrong. I've never used White's customer service but, like Tesoro, most everyone that has says good things.

The TRX operates differently than the Pro Pointer with the power mostly concentrated in the tip instead of the entire lower shaft. And it's a lot of power...approximately twice as much stable depth in level 3 default mode with the TRX. Another adjustment needed with the TRX is holding the on/off button down a second or so to turn the unit off unlike the Pro Pointer which is immediate.

The TRX has a lot of flexibility the Pro Pointer doesn't, and that's a plus to me. Audio on or off, vibration on or off, multiple sensitivity levels, tone adjustability, ability to ground balance, AA or 9V batteries. I like that I can save money using AA LSD rechargables with the TRX.

The TRX is the next evolution of the pinpointer IMO, and I strongly recommend it. To someone who was new to detecting, or wanted simplicity, I'd still recommend the Pro Pointer assuming compatibility with the detector being used. I carry both. The TRX is no advantage with a moderate depth textbook coin signal. The Pro Pointer is actually slightly faster on those. On the deeper iffys and shallow coin pops, having the TRX is an advantage.
