I found her little sisters!

Well-known member
I just got in from a little shorter hunt then normal, but I was pleased with the outing, non the less. Some of you may recall my post on the 1907 Barber half I found a couple of weeks ago. Well, this morning, I found her "little sisters." Both of her little sisters were in the same hole. One of the sisters was a 1907 Barber quarter and the littlest sister a 1916s Barber dime. Kind of ironic that the quarter was the same date as the earlier half recovery. The 2 Barbers this morning were in the same general area as was the half. The second picture is of the 3 sisters together, after several decades of being apart and the third is of the other recoveries made this morning. I was using the 11"dd on my ltd in bp mode, sen of 90, disc 0 and 3h and 4h tones. HH jim tn

 Just teasing Jim.. We know what those Fisher can do !! Deep deep deep.

Hey Bart, I thought about measuring them for you, but the marks on my digger only go to 13." Actually, there was a four or so inch base of wet leaves which I scrapped away and made about a 4" deep dig and they were laying in the dirt of the flipped over clod. HH jim tn

Nice silver!

My recent hunts have turned up a lot of beaver tail style tabs, a couple of wheat pennies and a complete absence of precious metal. Still looking for the first gold with the LTD. Wife did much better last weekend at a thrift shop. She picked up a 6 pack of old silver plate spoons for 50 cents and in the middle of the masking taped together pack was a pretty little sterling silver spoon with a weight of 22 grams.

Hah! TVR, my wife does that to me too! And I think she really enjoys it entirely too much...I come home with a handfull of pennies, and she says "Look what I picked up for a nickle down at the thrift store"

Tom, the half was 91-92, quarter 84-85 and the dime 73-75. I got a 4" deep Merc this morning and it was 74-77. I think it might have been a little on edge, but when I broke open the clod and located it with the pin pointer, it was flat then. We have very wet ground, though. HH jim tn
