I Got Burned by JimCVA in Virginia Beach

I bought a token book from him and of course used a Postal M.O., as he has no Paypal. Well he sent out the 4.5 pound book, but I never got it. He wrapped it in a light paper bag and it was ripped out somewhere along the way. I got the paper bag within a P.O envelope saying it was received without contents. He didn't insure it either. I called the P.O. and there is no refund on lost items without insurance. They looked for it in the local P.O., and in the big P.O. transfer center which is in the area, and nothing was found. So I emailed him a few times about it. I believe I am due a refund as I never received it. He doesn't reply to emails nor send the $45. Best not to deal with people like that. I have been on here for years and bought and sold many items, this is the first time I got burned.

sorry to hear that. it doesnt seem to be intentional but the fact that it wasnt shipped in better packaging and getting sold a piece of paper is non sense. A refund should be in order to you sir

Thanks, I agree, and I also think that he didn't do it intentionally. I am surprised that the people in the P.O. accept packages that likely won't stay together. Too many times I have seen flimsey packages at the counters, and most clerks never say anything. I have seen many clerks just toss packages in the bins, so it is easy to break them out. I even seen a clerk guy toss one about 10 feet. I work in a shipping deptment and I package items so UPS doesn't break them. Have had good success so far. Same with my E site online sales, I always put books in boxes. I have 100% feedback on E site and have been on it for over 15 years. It is a shame because I really wanted the token book, it would be nice to have my money back to spend on another one.

It would seem that out of common courtesy the guy would send you your money back.-----You paid for an item that you didn't receive & it wasn't your fault he chose to send it so poorly packaged.----Kind of a high price to pay for an empty paper bag!

Yes, $45 for a paper bag is a sting. I also noticed he took the for sale ad off the site when he got paid. I think most people should leave them on for the reasons such as this.

Did you try sending a Letter telling him ??

Maybe he is out of town, Or doesn't check e-mail that often.. Your right though.. No product received deserves a refund of the money....

Good luck.. I hope it is just a communication problem that you get resolved..

PS: Did you try sending a Personal message here at findmall ???????

I sent him a couple PMs and a couple emails also. He tried to tell me to get a refund from the P.O.. I explained thier policy a couple times to him, and after the last, which I asked again to get the refund from him, he just didn't reply any more. I doubt he is out of town, but even so, he could have put the refund in the mail before he left.

I got from Jimcva, a $20 check for partial payment for the lost book. He also sent a letter that I will get the rest after the first of October. I think maybe Jim is an elderly man and retired. He also apologised and said it was his fault, that he did not wrap the book good. I am 69 and semi retired, I have to work part time to make ends meet. Tough times, and I do feel for anyone who has tough times nowadays. Sure would have rather have had the missing book though.

Well it is now December, and I never have recieved the last half of my book payment that he said I would get in October. I just emailed him again for the $20, even though it should be $25. I don't expect I'll ever get it.
