Here's What I Have:
Okay, a week ago Tuesday, while waiting for my IDX Pro to get modified and sent to me, I picked up a gently used original Classic ID. It has the stock thin-profile 8" coil and works just fine. My modified IDX Pro will be here next week so I can part with this unit.
I also have a Compass Coin Hustler. It is just your basic, 1-knob TR that operates at 100 kHz and has that typical "raspy" Compass audio and excellent "see through" in iron nails.
It is a used unit and shows it, and the compression rod-lock doesn't work. However, tape is an easy 'fix' to secure the rod where you'd like it, and I have put it up against the performance of a Compass 77B and 94B-Auto, and the Coin Hustler will match or better them in depth!
