As Yoda would say...

"There is no wonder...Do or do not!"

With this set-up I bet you do!

That screen just don't look right on that thing. If you goin to have a digital detector, you might as well make the whole thing digital. That is what i can't figure out? We need these detectors even lighter. You got yourself a real classic there tab.A Tesoro with a screen. :yikes:

I sure hope so, because I have one arriving mid-week. I personally prefer the silver umax over the Golden when using the cleansweep and I am hoping that the Deleon combos well with it, but the silver has the job for now.

Otherwise, I have an idea that I will mostly use the Deleon with the stock coil or the 8". The depth meter is appealing to me and keeping it fairly accurate by sticking with the default coil is likely.

I used the Cleansweep with a Cortes for years. Very good combination for sports fields. Jewelry and coins could not hide. Just traded my Cortes for an Outlaw. Want to try that with the Cleansweep when the weather changes for the better. Good luck and happy hunting

Looks like you took a Swisher floor mop and mounted a car radio on it!

Hey Mudpuppy

I have a different perspective, it looks like a coin and jewelry vacuum sweeper to me:rofl:

Tabman, the DeLeon will give you very good depth with the stock 8x9 coil. It is a powerful machine. If you want to make good use of the visyual readout (which is one of the best when you learn all the things it tells you), you may well go with a smaller (than stock) coil, rather than larger. The detector is a beauty, enjoy it and HH. Pete.

Thanks Furious. I put a 8 inch concentric doughnut coil on it. You're right, it's does have a lot of power and depth. I haven't had much time to see what all it will do, but I did notice that the all metal mode has VDI. That is really interesting. I can't wait to see how it works in the field. Also, I can see why comparing the bar graph to the numbers will be really helpful in getting a accurate target ID. The Deleon may be the cat's meow for those who want a Tesoro and a visual display. The one thing that has really caught my attention the most is how powerful it is. I wasn't expecting that!

keep us posted on your new arrival :beers:

Will do. I'm taking the Deleon with a 8 inch doughnut coil on its maiden voyage today to a site that I've never detected before. This should be interesting.

So far I'm liking the audio tone, depth and lightening fast response of the Deleon from the testing that I've done so far around the yard.

I'm beginning to believe that the Deleon would be a fantastic detector even without a VDI display. Trust me, it has some good depth.

Later on, I may put something over the display screen to block it out and just go by the audio response and see how it goes.

I stole this from the internetz...

Small gold 20-30. Nickels 33-39. Ladys gold ring 35-41. Mens gold ring 41-54. lead bullet 58. Rifle brass 62-68. Zinc penny 66-78. Coins all 95.

Thought it would be useful info to have prior to a hunt. Someone else claimed that small gold started for him at 17, so maybe 17-30 is the small gold zone.

On my DeLeon, small gold rings come in at about 8-11, and I got one as high as 69 (large)...the medium ones come in about the low to mid 40s. Hope this helps HH
