I have a question about the 1834 Capped Bust Half...

On the edges, it's supposed to have stamped "FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR", but instead, the word "HALF" is mispelled. The "OR HALF" is overlaid on each other and it is missing the letter "H". Does this increase the value more than what the book gives? I'm sure Collectors look for this kind of thing. I'll post a picture of the edge of coin if someone wants to see what I'm talking about. Any thoughts?

Hi ksdigger,

I don't know enough to help you with the value of the coin, but I would sure like to see a picture of what you are talking about. Seems to me it would increase the value. A picture might help others that know more about collecting to answer your question.

Too bad about the scratches, but still a really great looking coin. Is my envy showing?

Thanks for sharing,
