Elton talked me into it. I can always blame Elton if I don't find anything with it.:)

Any set up tips will be appreciated.

You should give this thing a thourough workout, blaming ELTON for every little problem or pulltab you find! And loudly posting all and every find! You may as well get your moneys worth out of it!
No really, if Elton talked you into it, I'd say theres a gold coin out there you will find with it, probably the one JIMS been looking for!! Now THATs how Elton could get blamed for you "stealing" Jims gold coin! its a win-win all around...except for Jim I guess...

Dang, its about time. If you stick with that baby for a while, you will force me into lengthening my hunting time for procuring my share of goodies. I had the regular T 2 some time back and found it to be equal to the task. HH jim tn

Seriously learn it, and you will not believe how much you will find.... It's keeper all the way Tabman..

A true find it all detector.

To eliminate iron, a setting of 40
is usually about right. A setting of 80 will eliminate aluminum trash and zinc pennies, but
nickels will also be lost.

NUMBER OF TONES (# OF TONES)
This menu selection offers the user a choice among several different methods of audio
discrimination to accommodate a variety of search conditions and personal preferences.
These methods differ in the way the signals are processed for analysis, and in the number of
audio tones used to identify different target types.
The detector has two ways of processing signals for analysis

Elton that's good info. I've been reading where the 'gain' changes when you up the discrimination. That 50 discrimination point looks promising for certain circumstances.

It's going to take me awhile to master the T2SE to get the most out of it. How many days did it take you Elton?:)

At 50 it goes into a sorta Overdrive..if you would like my E-mail Pm me for it. I can teach you the little I know LOL....

I love the fact the T2's do not suffer loss of depth with higher discrimination...

Hey Elton, you're right about the T2SE. I just got mine in the mail today. I've been doing some testing with it around the yard. I can see why users are finding deep silver with the T2. I like the 3 tones a lot since I'm into sounds with my Tesoro detectors and hunt trashy sites. This baby is super light and well balanced. Whites and Minelab need to take note. It's VDI is not as accurate as the Omega's VDI is on deep targets, but it does give a nice rich high tone when it's over a deep silver coin. I like that! So primarily I'll be hunting with three tones in the discriminate mode. I just need to figure out what will be the best settings for the discrimination and sensitivity. I did note that a nickel will lose depth and start breaking up as I raise the discrimination from '10' to '40'. I don't want to lose anything on nickels, since it's in the gold ring range.

You the man, Elton.

Thanks

try disc at 21 deeper nickels in iron rich soils will read in the 30s also with lower disc you get a little more depth hh

For example..In really heavy trashed areas....if you can not get a good Gb..Just reset it to Factory 90 . adjust sens to what you want.Nails the Silver at very good depths and is better than having a really bad ground balance. Took me awhile to learn that little trick......

Another was the 50 Disc.... More power and no loss of depth. Started getting deeper targets in the higher categories..

Now when using a T2 or F75 in heavy loaded junk parks I just factory set and hunt..adding more sens as I go.. Another trick I learned..where Indian pennies are located Disc at 15 lower sens around 45 and you will find the 6 or 7" Indian Head pennies. Id is all over depending on the coin... Just dig the 5 6 7 inch hits and your Indian penny finds will go way up..

One draw back is you will hit some 6" Old 60's pull tabs that read as good......... nothing you do will get rid of the 60's tabs... just dig em out and get the coins as you go..... T2 must up average the 60's tabs.

Rusty caps will buzz a little and then hit..but buzz a little as you go over center.. so you can sorta tell them... another way is when you get in those areas raise coil..if it still hits at 8 9 inches it most likely will be a rusty cap..

are you saying that the factory ground balance is 90. if that is the case all i would have to do is turn it off then back on and then set sen. disc. and tones and start hunting. thanks

Actually you will be surprised how well it will do in factory GB if that is your only choice... Notice I am not saying it is better than a normal Fast Grab GB..only if you can not find clean ground for the GB..

Note this is only my opinion that I learned after many hours of using the T2 .... In your dirt the results could be different...

Shoulder to shoulder swings work best for proper identification on the meter. Yes it flashes the numbers fast, but it also hits that nice high tone when you hit good next to junk..So go back and isolate that flashing upper number read out and high tone.. You will find deep Silver...

One other thing too...when you are able in cleaner ground fast Grab Ground Balance often.... it only takes a quick forward push and hold on the trigger and bobbing the coil a few times.. This will insure you are always getting the best readings and mostly max depth... The T2 does not self adjust Like the coin strike did...and most hunters will tell you.. A fixed fast Grab GB is much better than a fluctuating Changing GB.... While the machines that adjust are doing that, you are missing some good targets.. True not many..But what if it were a $1 dollar gold coin you just missed.. ???

Ground does change in some areas pretty rapidly... Grass to dirt, Sand to grass, wet to dry...Even Sunny to shaded sometimes affects the GB....
