I have really noticed a lot more detectorist in my neck of the woods the last few years. Anyone else see this around your area?

... with all the machines we've been selling I'm sure you are right.

Don't worry though, "The Peter Principle", works / applies to most everything you can discuss. Such as 20% of employees provide 80% of the problems, 20% of the workers do 80% of the work, Out of 100 young ladies, only 20 will be really attractive (assuming you are sober :beers:) , or if it were guys, handsome.

Out of 100 detectors sold, about 20 are used fairly frequently. Out of those 20 only about 5 really learn how to get most out of their machine and never tire of the hobby the way the other 80 will eventually do.

I'm sure the onslought of "diggin shows" in the last couple of years has alot of people thinkin, "wow, lets us go get some of this easy $$$" and then they find out that its not like they see on tv, dont want to learn their equipment, dont like getting dirty, too many bugs, I'm getting sweaty, and the goods arent where the tv guys said it was, so the equipment ends up on Ebay or in the local pawn shops. The shows will generate alot of interest, but my feeling is the majority of people will not stick with it long.
Ken.
