Dug this up at my Parents and I haven't a clue what it went to,, any thoughts? Theres the number 552 just behind the cab over the trunk

From the pic it is hard to tell what the metal (If it is metal) might be??? Will a magnet stick to it??? My first thoughts are that it might have been some type of plate for stamping purposes, or a inking plate for printing. the 552 might be the plate number. other than that, I am purely guessing...

Why don't you throw the pic on the Whatzit Forum, maybe someone their will know. Just a thought.... Willie
