I hunted today with an Explorer XS and I'm really impressed with this detector.

Met up with some friends and the four of us worked a couple of parks.Between us we only found two silver dimes, the Explorer XS found a 1954 Roosevelt and four wheat's.I didn't see any performance difference between the Explorer ll and XS.The Older XS is a great detector.Anyway just to let you know I'm out and about still using the Explorer.HH Ron

You can't go wrong with your XS or any Minelab as far as that goes. I have had my XS for six years now and I really love this machine. It has paid for itself a couple of times over and as long as she keeps on ticking that's fine with me and I see no reason for any upgrade until she dies which I hope never happens.:clapping: Continued success with you XS. HH.

Get um while they are hot guys. If minelab continues their service trend this VERY EXCELLENT machine will disappear. It lacks some of the bells and whisles, but this is one great machine. Has anyone tried to get one fixed? Couple of guys i know got little or no help form minelab, but managed to get some spare parts.

Dew,probably even with a Explorer ll or SE if you needed a major repair and off warranty it would probably be cheaper to buy another metal detector.HH Ron

about doing some detecting. The only difference is that the Explorer ll is a bit faster....that and the Carbon Fiber Shaft and the Metal Stand. Also the Ferrous Content readout is available on the ll. Both have same Depth Capabilities so your not missing much. Good to hear you got out and did some hunting anyways...even if the finds were minimal. Hope you get out again real soon and bring home a few more keepers for your collection. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

James,I have confidence in these XS Explorers.Anytime I find a silver coin its a good hunt.My biggest problem is getting some hunting time. Thanks HH Ron
