Thought you all might enjoy it over here.
I got one of those late night phone calls.
When my phone rings in the middle of the night it's either bad news or a tele-marketing company from the east coast. This time it was bad news. My step dad had a heart attack. He is in ICU and has had two stints installed. So far he is doing pretty good considering his age (83) and being diagnosed with advanced lung cancer two weeks ago. This man is the best thing that happened to my Mom since my Dad passed (over 30 years ago from lung cancer) and I hate to see him go that way. So please, if you can include him in your prayers. His name is Don and mom's name is Marilyn. Don was responsible (I'm sure with the Lords help) for bringing our family back together again ( I have 8 sisters) we had not been in contact for over 20 years. When I first met Don he told me of my mothers tears late at night and how he prayed that we would all come home and be together again for her. Here's how it happened. Around ten years ago he took mom on a vacation to Hawaii. At the same time I was on a little off Island trip to Waikiki to do a little detecting for the weekend. While I was detecting at Waikiki beach a older man approched me with the usual questions about detecting, soon the topic changed to where I was from, and about family. I told him where I was from and that I had 8 sisters. he then got a interested look on his face and asked if my moms name was Marilyn, well I said no, her name is Pat. I asked him who Marilyn was and he said his wife, and told me she had 8 daughters and a son and how he had found all the girls but never her son, his name was also Dennis. I told him life is full of coindences and he agreed. Then I said nice meeting you Don but I gotta get something to drink and get back to detecting (we had been chatting for almost an hour).Well Don said my wifes sitting just over there and we have a cooler full of ice cold water, it's the least I can offer after taking up so much of your time. So I accepted his offer. As we walked up he called out "Marilyn this is Dennis", and to me "Dennis, this is Marilyn" as he reached into the cooler for a bottle of water.
Marilyn lifted up the wide brimmed straw sunhat she had covering her face I could only say one thing with tears welling up in my eyes, "Hi Mom".
Seems Mom stopped using her first name (Pat) when she married Don. 5 years later we had a family reunion. All of us were there.
That day on the beach in Waikiki there was more water flowing in that one spot than all the oceans combined, and I found the greatest treasure FAMILY!.
To those that have read this far and are still awake this is a TRUE story and PRAYER REALLY DOES WORK!
Thanks for reading and your prayers.

Indeed, a true treasure was found that day. It was all in his plan.
I am a living example of just how PRAYERS work. I thank you all for yours.
God Bless,

I would love to here the story as to how you claim to be "a living example of just how PRAYERS work"

Most people here on the forum are aware that I was diagnosed with hepatitis C a couple of years ago. I posted a story right before Christmas about when I went back to the Dr.
The amount of infection in my liver is called my VIRAL LOAD. After taking almost half of my injections, and 6 pills a day,(like chemo for my liver), he informed me that my viral load was pretty bad. It was 170. It should have been 0. I ask the DR what is was when I started, and after shuffling through my chart, he said .....21 million.
My point is this though. I have MANY friends and relatives praying for me and after knowing how I treated my body all these years, it amazes me that I am responding to treatment---and prayers!
Carol and I knew going in to this that it was God's will---whatever happened. We both pray for COMPLETE healing and we both are certain of it!
God Bless,
Lil Brother <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

One of my younger sisters also was diagnosed with hepatitis C. So I have an idea of what you go through. Good news is that after 3 years of meds and prayers, her viral load tested 0 last October.
I'll be adding you to my prayer list.
