Why don't Garrett offer a backlight for the face on the new models coming out? I have heard several people remark they wish they could read the data better in strong sunlight and after dusk as well. That goes for me too! It sure wouldn't add much to the cost nor add much extra weight. So, how about it Mr. Garrett? Oh, and happy birthday too! Monty

For a couple of dollars, you can get a LED light and clip it on a hat orvdetector. By not adding a LED factory installed light, you are keeping the price down.

yes, on many occasions I have needed light on the screen, I like to detect at night is more peaceful, especially at the beach. Also in the sun I had trouble seeing clearly the indicators. Not a big problem but it can be an improvement for a future project. Also must take into account the consumption of light at the expense of batteries.
By the way, have enough autonomy to carry only 4 batteries
I will try to test the use of an LED, can be a good idea, thanks.
un saludo

It would be a nice feature in some ways, but I prefer not to have a light. Most of the time I'm hunting during the day, so it is a feature that is way down low on my wish list. Also when I am hunting at night, I already have a light strapped on my head for seeing in general, so a backlight would be redundant.

Am glad you posted your preference, tho; Garrett wants to hear from their customers. :wiggle:
