What's it made of???

That is a photo of sauerkraut .

First I fry salt pork,

then remove the pork bits and sautee onions in the liquid fat.

I squeeze out the brine from a bag (or can ) of saurkraut and slow cook ( low boil) the sauerkraut for about 2 hours

then I resqueeze the sauerkraut and add it to the salt pork/onion mixture...add a couple of shakes of pepper and serve it with either hot dogs, or kielbasi

OK... so do you brown some onions first and add flour to make a rue? The add the sauerkraut and some water? MMMmmm kielbasi and kapusta........ Chicken paprikash!!!..... is that my stomach rumbling before I've even had coffee??? You know, I definitely have to plan on visiting you this summer... for purely Christian fellowship and MD'ing purposes of course. Now, should we be coming up to lunch time well.....

Hi Joe,

Yes, while the sauerkraut is cooking, I sautee the onions in that salt pork residue; I add a little flour to thicken it slightly we call that "za smaczka" ( translation: for tastiness).

MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! I use this mixture for kapusta pieroghi also.MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm
