I need help, my Ads 7 quit

Flintstone

Well-known member
Saturday my old Ads 7 was doing a great job, got to rings lot of coins. Then it stared to show low battery and i had just recharged the new rechargeable. In a flash it quit, so i came home put the battery on the charger they were a little low but not were they should have quit. Anyway i charged them full, put them back in turned on the detector and one beep and that was it. Now it wont do anything. I got new regular 9v Duracell's put them in and nothing it don't come on, no battery check or anything. I really like this detector first Garrett's i have had. Can anyone tell me what it might cost to send it to get it fixed? I know i will pay shipping. If i send it can i just send the coil and detector with out the rods. Any help to fix my baby would be great. Thanks Dean

Sorry to see that your machine just up and quit.:(I hope Garrett's fixes ya' up real soon, but I don't think they work on those older machines.
I know of a couple different places that work on older detectors here in The States.

East Texas Metal Detectors 903.734.7773 and aother place up in Michigan (pro stock) 269-685-1776

Best of luck to ya'!:biggrin:Hope ya' get it fixed soon! Happy Hunting!:)

You think it might just be the battery connection on the slide tray Dean ?
Maybe the contacts on the slide tray are not making good contact or dirty.
Just guessing. Hope you get it figured out. HH Gene

Thanks all of you. I sent it to Garrett's this afternoon, i called they said they would try and fix it. If it needed parts they can,t get they will send it back on charge, what ya think of that? Can,t beat good service. I hoe they can fix it i can,t believe how good these old detectors are. Thanks for everything Dean

If they can't fit it and you want to replace it I have one that I will sell. The coil wire is bad on it
but the control box is in very good condition. Don't have time to take photo's at this moment but
if you are interested let me hear from you and I'll send you some asap.
