I have mentioned this before and have not had any luck. A friend made me a set of head phones, and they worked great on my Deleon, I bought a X 70 and they did not work! I have a cheap pair of head phones with the stero mono switch and they work on both detectors, so today I took apart both set's of phones and wired the home maid set just like the cheap set, I put in a double pole doule throw switch for my home maid pair so I could wire them up just like the cheap set, they will now work on the X 70 with little volume, they work on the Deleon if you pull the plug out some! I hope that someone can show me how to wire the home maid set to work on both detectors, the plug is a stereo plug.
I woull be great full for any help!
Thanks Greg

Do yourself a favor. Take the plug apart and there are three rings on the plug. The tip, the ring just back from the tip and the barrel. When you look at the inside of the plug the barrel will be connected to the largest that connects to the outside of the plug. So take a jumper wire and solder it across the other two connections to the plug NOT the barrel the other two.

Now you have permanent monuaral headphones which should work with either detector.

Hope this helps.

Wayne.

Gary, here is wiring that will work. Hope it just doesn't confuse you.

I don't know how the Tesoro's Headphone Jack is wired but Minelab uses only the TIP and Ring for audio on the Explorer and Sov detectors so I would think that they also used the Tip and Ring on the X-70.
