what I believe and know concerning the Pentecostal faith that you have found a good woman, providing she is really saved and serves God in Spirit and in Truth in Jesus' name! I am Pentecostal and have spoken in tongues and given messages and the interpretation of them! I have laid hands on people and prayed for them and was shown by God's Holy Spirit what was wrong and where the problem of pain was in the body!

If she loves Lord Jesus as much as I do, she will be the best thing in life for you to date and then marry if it be so, but you may have to go to her church and find out for yourself about what goes on during the services and then change your faith to hers, if God gives you a heart change for worshiping Him there! Don't be afraid of going and trying the Pentecost's way of serving the Lord and you may find that you will like it and enjoy the services! You will most likely be asked to sing when you go, as anyone who has a talent of any kind are usually asked to partake in the service! I used to be a Southern Baptist but now I truly like being a Pentecostal and serving the Lord Jesus Christ in that faith! Doesn't mean there aren't true believing Christians in other faiths, but this church is where I really rec a personal relationship with Jesus, although I knew of Him for many, many years and went to church as a child! I pray all works out for you and her, if it is to be so, in God's blessings! Amen! Ma

Happened in the bible. No where in the bible does it say it has stopped or that it was just for back then.
The 1st time I went to an assembly of God church I felt just like you will. Never seen anything like it. As a whole everyone was a lot more enthusiastic about God then where we went before. My wife and I have been going ever since. About 20 years. Our son went to there school also.

There is a lot of information on the internet.
I suggest you read through some of the online pamphlets put out by the Pentecostal church.
It is a matter of believing in the activity of the Holy Spirit, at work today.
There are a lot of Lutherans who are involved in the "renewal" part of the church who also believe this.
Check this out. http://www.lutheranrenewal.org/

Both are very real. If you both put God first and pray about guidance then He will show you the answer you seek.

I am Pentecostal to the bone. I assure you it is real. It is something you have to experience or find out for yourself as you cannot throw the questions out there and expect to get correct answers from every post. For those who don't believe, they will give you their opinion. It's kind of like asking someone who has never driven anything but a Buick (car) to tell you all about how to drive a 4x4 Toyota truck, how it operates, works, and about all of its features. That person doesn't know what they are talking about. Or like asking someone who has never operated anything but a farm tractor to tell you all about how to run a bulldozer and what all can be done with that dozer. Or asking someone who only knows how to sew a button on a shirt to tell you how to crochet a blanket. It can sometimes be easy to blurt opinions about things we really know nothing about. Some people will NEVER believe or accept it because they were taught in certain denominations that it isn't real or that it's of the devil. Uhhhh..... opinions and teachings coming from "experts" who don't know what they are talking about? But the traditions handed down by their church and/or family, in their minds, makes them right and makes everyone else wrong. Don't let traditions of men cheat you out of your experiences with God. The 7th chapter of Mark talks about the traditions of men. There are those who will say that they asked their pastor about it and was told it isn't real, so they automatically think that's the way it is. Just because a pastor might have gone to seminary or some other school for training, does not make him/her right. It goes right back to the fact that they don't believe it's real because it's what they were taught or traditions handed down. There are people who have had bad experiences in Pentecostal circles - BUT - there are people who have had bad experiences in other churches/denominations too. PRAY AND SEEK THE LORD for your answers and don't depend on what I say - OR - what anyone else has to say on the subject. I can tell you all day long that your car will not crank, and I might believe that it wont crank simply because someone else told me your car wont crank. But until you make up your mind to seek the answer for yourself, your car will most definitely not crank! Get in that car and turn the key for yourself!

Steve you have been given some good advise and explained very well. Open your heart to the Holy Spirit and let Him guide you thru the decisions you are going to make...you can`t go wrong with God at the helm.
