I need some iron detecting help.

How do I set up the EX 1 to sound off on iron? I put a 3x4 piece of artillery shell on the ground and couldn't even get a peep out of it.sens @ 25, Gain @6, Advanced smart,Iron mask 14 on, or off.And would this set up be good for the Shiloh seeded hunt this weekend. thanks for the help.

turn off the iron mask and leave the discrimination wide open.

You should be getting something with IM set Off. But you say you are not.
How does the ExI handle overload signal...IE when the target is just too big or close. I know the EXII gives out a warbling sound, maybe the ExI gives nothing ...dont know just wondering. How high is your threshold volume? is it nulling or do you have it too low to hear?
